Jonathan May

Jonathan was born in Windsor, moving to Newcastle on Tyne while at University; after 10 years in Kent, he now lives in Lanarkshire  with his wife Janice, stepson, two cats and occasionally (foxes permitting) a  few chickens! Among his interests are food, wine, film, antiques, art and  literature and architecture.

Jonathan’s wide professional experience includes Opera,  performed with English Touring Opera, Welsh National Opera, Scottish OperaOpera North and Royal Opera Covent Garden, singing Bartolo (Barber of  Seville),

Colline (La Boheme), Mr. Flint (Billy  Budd),Commendatore ( Don  Giovanni),

Zuniga (Carmen), Angelotti (Tosca).  He has appeared internationally with Opera de Metz, Opera de Rouen, Opera Fuoco and the Japan Society New York and has sung  with Choral Societies in England and Wales, singing Elgar’sThe Dream of Gerontius, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, Haydn’s Creation,

Verdi’s Requiem, Bach’s St. John Passion and Handel’s Messiah.

December 2009 is Jonathan’s debut appearance with Perth Choral Society and we are delighted to welcome him to Perth.
